Sometimes in life we prefer to remain hidden instead of exposing ourselves to the public. We hide behind a type of curtain protecting ourselves from the negative energies that could potentially be directed at us. An example of hiding behind the curtain is somebody who has drafted an article or a book and has not allowed themselves to push forward and release that work to the public. Another example of how we hide behind a curtain is when we have skills and abilities that we hold dear and almost secret from others. We may have an idea or innovative solution, but we avoid sharing our thoughts with people.
Sometimes these ideas and talents are unusual, and we know that if we were to unveil them to others that we run the risk of facing two different reactions. The first reaction may be positive, where people resonate with our ideas and talents and appreciate them. By avoiding lifting the curtain, and displaying our true self, we hide from recognition and success. Some people are unconsciously afraid of success and attention. The second reaction that we might receive is negative attention, such as judgment, ridicule, criticism, scrutiny, belittling, discounting, and other low vibration energies. By remaining hidden behind the curtain in life, we protect ourselves from these draining energies. Thus, by hiding behind a curtain we prevent ourselves from inspiring others and experiencing success AND we also protect ourselves from being bombarded with negativity or being perceived as a failure. This is a double-edged sword.
Fear is the driving force that keeps us hidden behind this protective curtain. Since we don’t know whether the attention that we will receive from others will be positive or negative (or a combination of the two), we choose to play it safe and conceal ourselves. It is our perceived vulnerability that we are protecting. It feels safer behind the curtain separated from the energies of the public. However, due to the fact that life is so short and temporary, it is better to lift the curtain and take a chance to reveal your own special talents. This allows others to connect with you for exactly who you are. This also is a key way for us to honor our true authentic self, which is a form of unconditional self-love.
By exhibiting our genius and passions to the world, we also give permission to others to do the same. We inspire them to be their authentic self, and this begins a domino effect of everyone tapping into their genuine soul. No masks or filters needed. It is no longer necessary to conform or blend into the crowd. We do not need to pretend to be someone we are not or pursue things that are not aligned with who we really are. Not only do we inspire people to reveal their authentic self to others, but we also free ourselves to receive success and acceptance. Looking back on history, we can clearly see that those who were brave enough to live unapologetically and be themselves, were also highly prosperous. It was as if they tapped into some sort of supernatural vein of success and abundance. In addition, coming out from the shadows behind the curtain allows us to connect and bond with other like-minded and energetic souls. Our soul tribe will be drawn to us, almost as if by magic.
When we honor our true authentic self by overcoming our fear, and showcasing our vulnerable self to others, we unknowingly strengthen our essence. Our soul gets stronger and more courageous to attempt other feats in this lifetime and beyond. Although it feels safer behind the curtain, it is actually harmful to your living being because you are denying your true self. It is a form of self-abandonment or neglect, and that is not founded on unconditional love. There is dishonor when we purposely choose to deny who we really are and what our real ideas and talents are, no matter how unusual or outstanding they may be. To remain hidden behind the curtain is a total disservice to your very being in this lifetime.
It is a much wiser approach to allow the curtain to be lifted and to take a chance and put yourself out there for others to witness. For the people that resonate with you, you may inspire them to be their own true authentic self. By being who you truly are, you are empowering others to do the exact same. It is highly respectable to be someone who is genuinely themselves rather than to be fake simply for the sake of playing it safe and blending in with the crowd. So go ahead and give yourself permission to write and publish that book, apply or audition for that role, make and post that video, sing and perform that song, start that business, or do whatever else your inner being would like to experience in this lifetime. When it is all said and done you will be able to look back and feel a sense of pride that you held firm and stayed true to your core living essence. If no one is willing to help you lift the curtain, then go ahead and take action to lift the curtain on your own. Step out of your comfort zone and step into the spotlight. Honor yourself and allow others to witness your shine!
